Saturday’s Week 2 NFL Preseason Trifecta

After checking out the NFL chances board, I discovered the line with this match had tumbled from Patriots -3 into where it now stands, in this Friday morning composing, to Patriots -1. Most of us know how crucial the number three is in football and anytime the number goes off of itI get suspicious, particularly in preseason playwith. The Pats destroyed the Lions 31-3 last week into their preseason opener and it would not surprise me a bit to visit Belichick tinker with the game program to learn how his troops perform under specific conditions. There is nothing the coaching legend loves more than a hybridvehicle, a player who can be called upon to perform different tasks and assume different roles. This game smacks of the ideal time for New England to begin experimenting so backing a team like the Titans in our NFL picks is the smart move ahead. Catch the number with Tennessee in your home.

Betting preseason football is obviously a small roll of the dice but there are a few trends we could sniff out which can give us a lean one way or another. Perhaps chief among people are the training records that may indicate how important a head coach views wins and losses in the exhibition period. Look no farther than Detroit’s Matt Patricia who possesses a 1-4 preseason listing versus Texans’ head coach Bill O’Brien who appears to place great import on Week 2 of the preseason background using a 4-1 mark in these competitions. Furthermore, Detroit might need to rely upon prior San Jose State, along with sixth-round pick of their 2014 draft, David Fales and recently signed journeyman Josh Johnson to lead the attack with No. 1 copy Tom Savage on the sidelines courtesy of a possible concussion suffered in last week’s loss to New England. This doesn’t work well for Detroit and thus we’ll put our dough on the Texans.

The two these clubs neglected to locate the endzone last week since Dallas lost 17-9 to the 49ers while the Rams fell 14-3 to the Raiders. But once more, something smells a bit fishy in this one as the Rams started as three-point house favorites but now the Cowboys are ranging from 2 to two 1/2 point street chalk. The big names on either side will not see much if any action within this meaningless preseason lean but I wouldn’t be surprised to find that the Cowboys emerging victorious, or covering the number in what is shaping up for a close competition. The Rams are 1-5 ATS in their last six Saturday games along with the Cowboys are seeking to put emphasis in their running attack now that it appears as though Ezekiel Elliot is intent on pulling a Le’Veon Bell this year and sit until he gets what he desires. This resembles a ground-and-pound matchup and since Dallas should know what they have in the backfield, expect them to use their primary backs over the Rams. Todd Gurley will not see the field and that is excellent news for the Boys.
Rating: Cowboys 17 — Rams 14
